The full commercial lane set, plus survey lanes and the deprecated routes that turn out to matter when the primary lane is closed. No relay dependency, no subscription that expires somewhere inconvenient, no degraded mode when you are outside beacon coverage.
Under nine seconds
Average recalculation from a standing start is 8.6 seconds. The number people should actually plan around is the worst case: 31 seconds, measured on the densest lane cluster in the almanac with both cores loaded. If a vendor will not publish a worst case, they have one they do not like.
Anomalies do not corrupt the almanac
Gravitic events are the classic way to lose a navicomputer — not by breaking the hardware but by silently corrupting stored solutions, which is far worse. The NC-1701's storage is triple checksummed and self-healing, and the core is rated to a 40 g gravitic gradient. After an anomaly it re-verifies its whole almanac and reports what it fixed.
