HULL COMPATIBILITY
Life support is the one system where "mostly working" and "not working" are the same category. The LSR-6 is built on the assumption that it will be maintained by tired people under time pressure.
Hot-swappable cartridges
Six scrubber bays, any of which can be pulled and replaced while the loop runs. No shutdown, no donning masks, no scheduling a maintenance window around a watch change. The recycler redistributes load across the remaining five bays and puts the interval back where it was when the new cartridge seats.
Ninety-eight point six percent
Closed-loop water recovery at 98.6%. The missing 1.4% is why you still carry reserve, and we would rather publish the real number than the theoretical one. Over nine hundred days with forty crew, that gap is about 640 litres — plan accordingly.
It counts down in days, not percent
Consumable reporting on the LSR-6 is in days of remaining endurance at current crew count, not a percentage bar. Percentages invite optimism. Days do not.
Fitting notes
